Help Transport A Rescued GSD

There are times when we rescue a GSD that is not in our immediate area. In order to get that dog into his/her new foster home, we rely on several methods of transportation. If it is a special case that requires immediate intervention, we sometimes resort to flying. We also often use a very safe and reliable paid ground transport service. But there are times when funds are low, and neither of these options will work. It is then that we rely on volunteer transports.

A volunteer transport is broken down into 'legs," beginning at the dog's current location and ending at our rescue base or the new foster home, whichever applies. The legs usually range from 50 - 80 miles, with 10 minutes alloted between ech one to allow the dog to stretch his/her legs, get a drink of water and attend to any potty needs.

Often times our ability to find volunteers for each leg can mean the difference between life and death for a dog. It's also a wonderful opportunity to met some wonderful animals, and really make a difference in a life.

Any transports we have planned will be posted at Southern Trails Transports. So if you are interested in helping get a deserving animal to safety, please have a look or email for more information!
